How much will I save?

Your savings depend on your local billing rate, how many watts you have installed and actual production. Please be aware that there are a number of factors that affect actual production.

1. Rated wattage for a panel is under ideal test conditions known as STC (Standard Test Conditions). Rarely are these conditions present in the real world.

2. Your number one factor is shade and overcast skies. Even a small amount of shade or cloudy weather will reduce production.

3. Temperature, time of year, panel angle and orientation will impact production. Maximum production is only achieved during peak summer days at the correct angle to the sun. Our adjustable brackets allow you to adjust sun angle in spring/fall, winter and summer. Panels do best when oriented to true south (not magnetic south). Of course, days get longer and shorter depending on the season.

4. Bifacial panels also generate power from the back of the panel and are recommended. This can allow them to generate additional power.

5. There is a loss of power when the DC power from the panel is converted to AC power by the microinverter.

How does the SC state tax credit work?

Installed solar systems may be eligible for up to a 25% state tax credit. The credit in any one year is limited to half of your state liability and can be carried over for up to 10 years. Please consult with your tax attorney for additional information.

Can I use the panels to recharge my battery/solar generator?

Yes, but you will need to disconnect the panel from the microinverter and attach it to the DC input cord from your battery manufacturer. Please make sure you review any instructions from your battery manufacturer about maximum DC input voltage.

Do I need an Interconnection Agreement?

Possibly. Currently if your utility is Duke Energy SC, or Blue Ridge you are required to request an Interconnection Agreement which will incur application fees along with additional monthly fees. You may also need to change to a Time of Use (TOU) billing plan.
