Things to know

1. Our systems DO NOT provide power  during a power outage. This is a safety feature built into your microinverter (UL1741) that is designed to protect linemen repairing power lines after a storm or other power outage. Upon power being restored your plugin solar will turn back on after waiting 5 minutes.

2. If you desire power during an outage we recommend buying a separate battery from a companies like Bluetti, Jackery, EcoFlow (there are many others). If you wish to be able to recharge during an extended outage include a couple of pop-up solar panels.

3. When selecting your mounting brackets consider placement in the sunniest spot possible. Even a little shade can reduce your power production.

4. If the 16 foot power cord is not long enough you can use a 12gauge extension cord up to 25 feet.

5. It is highly recommended that you use a dedicated circuit for your plugin solar system, installed by a licensed electrician. You want to be sure that the system along with any appliances on the same circuit do not exceed the breaker rating. E.g. a 15 amp breaker at 120volts is good up to 1,800 watts. There are optional smart breakers available on the market if this will be an issue. Please see our page on Breaker Masking for more information.

6. Our microinverter has inputs for up to two solar panels between 315 and 600 watts each. Operating Voltage must be between 26 and 60 volts each. You can install with one panel and add a second at a later date.

7. REGULATORY NOTE: This is a portable solar device. It may need registration with your utility company. Depending on how you plan to install it, your city may require a permit. Please be sure to check with your city and electrical utility about permitting and interconnection requirements!
